ABU Launches First e-Learning MBA in Nigeria

By | Announcements

Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) has made history as the first university in the country to have a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) programme accredited by NUC to be delivered in e-learning mode. Apply for it here.

Prospective students from any part of the country can now take their MBA from anywhere without the need to go to the ABU campus at all. Lecture videos and study materials can be accessed offline via custom tablets or Dual USB sticks on smartphones or PCs. Submitting assignments and projects as well as interacting with lecturers, tutors and other classmates all happen via ABU’s e-learning portal online. What about exams? Those can be done in examination centers spread across all regions in Nigeria.

In an event to mark the launch of the programme the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Ibrahim Garba, represented by his Deputy (Administration), Professor Ibrahim Naiya Sada, at the launch event said “this is a same degree, same ABU and accredited by the NUC, so it’s safe”.

In a bid to make the programme more robust than any other in the country, the university is also partnering with big names in the corporate industry. The partnership with Jobberman will avail Jobberman users who become students special offers regarding career options from internships to CV re-writes and job placement.

Companies like Accenture Nigeria will improve the program experience through internship opportunities for students during the semester and full time jobs after the program. As part of the global management consulting company’s initiative to diversify its workforce, the Managing Director, Niyi Yusuf said that “Accenture will be looking to hire brilliant candidates of Northern backgrounds via this program”.

The MBA is suited for middle level workers in the private or public sector who want to accelerate their careers, and also entry level workers or fresh graduates who need an extra advantage in the workplace and job market. Financial aid also exists in form of low interest loans from partnering Banks.

How we handle distance learning

By | Announcements | No Comments

We have made our distance learning programme easy and accessible to you anywhere you are in the world.

The VigiTab is a portable device (tablet) that houses the mobile LMS and course content. An integral part of our VigiLearn solution is the provision of customized tablets to students in the eLearning program. The purpose of the tablets is to allow access to the Learning Management System (LMS). We have also taken into consideration the infrastructural challenges in Africa, such as power and bandwidth; hence the Vigitab has over 10-hours battery life. In addition, the tablets are designed with a dual mode function that allows students access to lecture materials whether they are online or offline – meaning that students do not require the internet to view their lectures.

VigiDrive is just like any other flash drive which saves and stores your important files with its nifty 32GB storage. It is a plug and play device that requires no installation on your computer. Your VigiDrive can be connected to either your android phone using the micro USB port or to your computer using USB 3.0 port.
Vigidrives are only compatible with some devices. Please visit abudlc.edu.ng/devices to check for device compatibility to guide your decision.
