The ABU Distance Learning Center MPH aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills to enable them to address public health challenges through research and practice. It covers the whole breadth of public health, encompassing low-, middle- and high-income countries. It reflects local, national and international public health agendas, and provides the opportunity to explore public health issues in-depth with academics, researchers and practitioners.

Candidates who possess the following qualifications are eligible for admission into the program:
1) A basic professional degree in Medicine (MBBS) from Ahmadu Bello University or other recognized universities are to be considered primarily.
2) A degree in the following related disciplines such as Dentistry, Pharmacy, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Nursing, Community health, Health Education, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Veterinary Medicine, Environmental Health, Anatomy, Human Physiology, Physiology, Physiotherapy with Second-Class Lower (2.2) degree from Ahmadu Bello University or any other recognized Universities.
3) BSc in accepted fields listed above with third class and Post Graduate Diploma in
accepted field.
4) HND in any of the eligible courses listed above and PGD in Public Health
All candidates must also have:
1) The basic university entry requirement of five (5) credit passes including English and
Mathematics, Physics, Biology and Chemistry at O’ Level (WAEC, NECO, GCE,
NABTEB or IJMB only) at not more than two sittings.
2) NYSC certificate (discharge, exemption or exclusion letter)
