A candidate must have credits in Economics, English Language or Mathematics, and any other two relevant subjects, at not more than two sittings, and must write Universities Matriculation Examination (UME) and attain an acceptable standard in the use of English, Mathematics, Economics and any other relevant subject.
Direct Entry candidates must have Two A/Level passes in IJMB Examination or Cambridge Moderated Schools or Basic Studies Terminal Examination. The passes should be in any two of the following subject Economics, Accounting, Business Management, Statistics, Government and Geography.
Also, a candidate with a Diploma in Accounting, Banking and Finance, Insurance or Management with a minimum of Merit Pass from Ahmadu Bello University may be accepted into the programme.

The credits must be in Economics, English Language or Mathematics, and any other two relevant subjects such as Additional mathematics, Geography, Government, Accounting, Commerce, etc.
For the Four-Year Programme, applicants must write the Universities Matriculation Examination (UME) and attain an acceptable standard in the use of English, Mathematics, Economics and any other subject. For the three-year programme for which admission is given to 200 level, prospective candidates must, in addition to satisfying the O’ Level requirements, have sat for three A’ Level subjects including Economics and must have passed them creditably.

The BNSc programme is an 8 semester course for students that enter the programme through direct entry and begin from 200 level.
To graduate, a candidate must earn at least 90 Credit Units.Subject to sitting for and passing the professional registration examination of N&MCN.
The student must have undergone the required practical/clinical experiences in the ward and other practical areas during the semester and long vacation from 200 level to 500 level. The following are the areas covered during the training: 1) medical posting, 2) surgical posting, 3) paediatric nursing posting, 4) theatre posting, 5) obstetrics and gynaecology posting, and 6) labour ward posting.
During the period of clinical experience, clinical instructors and academic staff from the department will supervise the student. At the end of each posting, practical examinations are conducted. Among the requirements for this study, is a research study undertaken at 500 level.
